GROUP THERAPY

Community Support

Group therapy offers more affordable access to mental health care and it can be just as effective as individual therapy (sometimes even more).  In my work with groups, I strive to create a culture of emotional safety in which group members can explore common concerns, experience a sense of solidarity, and learn various ways of coping with life’s challenges.

Many group participants have reservations and/or anxiety about partaking in a group therapy experience.  However, most group members find their participation in group therapy to be enormously rewarding. If you are interested in trying group therapy, please reach out.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Personal Growth

During Individual Therapy sessions, we will explore your concerns, get clarity about what is most meaningful to you, and work toward developing insight, building skills, if appropriate, and overcoming obstacles that may be holding you back.  I will tailor my therapeutic approach based on your needs and the relationship we form.

COUPLE THERAPY

Strengthen Your Relationship

In my work with couples, I draw heavily from the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), which was developed by Dr. Stan Tatkin.  PACT integrates attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and the science of human arousal and our capacity for co-regulation. During our couple’s sessions, I work to understand each partner’s attachment style while also observing interpersonal patterns, and supporting partners in learning how to better meet each other’s needs.  Generally, I meet with couples together for an hour-and-a-half per session.  Depending on each couple’s needs and how our work together progresses, sometimes it is possible to decrease to one hour sessions over time.
